Acupuncture

Tui Na Medical Massage

Tui Na Medical Massage

Acupuncture originated from China more than 2,500 years ago.  To this day, it is still one of the most widely used forms of medicine and energy healing in the world.  Its efficacy is proven by research, practice, and verification of effectiveness time and time again.  According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, our health is determined by  the quality of Qi, or energy, flow through natural pathways in our bodies.  These natural energy pathways are called meridians.   Acupuncture is performed by inserting very thin, sterile, medical grade needles into specific points on the body to stimulate and improve our Qi flow.  These points or accesses into the energy meridians are called acupuncture points.  The many benefits of acupuncture include

improved Qi and Blood circulation; stress relief; improved mood; regulation of breathing; pain reduction; inflammation reduction; improved digestion; improved sleep; improved energy levels; improved focus, concentration  and memory; and a greater sense of overall health and general well-being.

Tui Na Medical Massage

Tui Na Medical Massage

Tui Na Medical Massage

Tui Na is a Bodywork Therapy that originated in China over 2,000 years ago and is still commonly used today.  Tui means to "push" and Na means to "grasp".  Tui Na Medical Massage is different from other massages in that a diagnosis is made and the massage treatment is based on the diagnosis.  Manual techniques such as tapping, patting, pressing, pushing, grasping, plucking, rubbing, shaking, vibrating, rolling,  kneading, and wiping are applied to specific body parts to increase the circulation of Qi and Blood in order to promote healing and to relieve pain.  Additional benefits of Tui Na include release of toxins; improved  immunity; improved mobility; relief from stress, tension, anxiety and depression; and promotion of sleep.

Facial Rejuvenation

Facial Rejuvenation Treatments at Insight Acupuncture & Wellness Clinic includes facial cleansing, oil preparation, Chinese Acupressure Points Facial Massage, Facial Acupuncture, and Facial Cupping which are customized to each individual patient's specific needs or problem areas.  Chinese Acupressure Points Facial Massage, Facial Acupuncture, and Facial Cupping stimulates the meridian points in certain parts of the face and body to promote blood circulation and increased oxygen delivery, thereby replenishing skin moisture, improving facial skin complexion, color, and relaxation.  As the skin tissue becomes fresh, elastic and rejuvenated, it also reduces spots and wrinkles.  There are about 16 Acupressure Points on the face.  When these beauty points are pressed frequently, not only can we achieve anti-aging effects; but we can also help improve memory and intelligence.  They also bring relief to such health conditions as temporomandibular joint (TMJ) pain, neurasthenia, dizziness, deafness, and tinnitus.  Try Facial Rejuvenation Treatments at Insight Acupuncture & Wellness Clinic to enjoy these benefits and so much more...!!!

Cupping

Cupping has been a branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine for over 2,500 years.  It improves circulation, releases toxins, relieves  tightness and pains, and also helps with respiratory and digestive  issues.  Like massage, it relieves stress and tension.  However, while massage applies an inward force to our bodies, cupping applies an  outward force by way of an outward suction that draws our skin, flesh, and blood into the cups through the mechanism of a vacuum.  This facilitates the cleansing and strengthening of our Qi or energy.  The  result is a greater overall sense of elimination, detoxification, tonification, and general well-being.

Moxibustion

Moxibustion

Moxibustion is the application of heat to certain points, meridians, or locations of the body by burning the plant Artemesia  vulgaris or Ai Ye.  Moxa works by warming the meridians, expelling cold, expelling damp, promoting smooth flow of Qi and Blood, stopping bleeding, preventing disease and nourishing health.  Since moxa can warm  the meridians, promote smooth flow of Qi and Blood, and expel cold; it  can relieve pain, regulate the menses and promote fertility.  Since moxa  can expel damp, it can treat edema.  These are just some of the few benefits of moxibustion.

Gua Sha

Moxibustion

Gua Sha is a technique that involves the use of a scraping tool on the skin and observing color changes.  Gua means to "scratch" and Sha  means "sand".  Gua Sha promotes circulation, generates heat, and can release heat and toxins.  It can also relax the muscles and sinews, unblock the channels, balance yin and yang, and help prevent disease.  It can be used to relieve fever, pain, stiffness and constipation.  There are some cautions to be aware of when considering performing gua sha, so please consult a licensed professional.

Herbal Medicine

Nutritional Counseling

Nutritional Counseling

Chinese herbal medicine is a 2,200 year old tradition.  Its practice involves the use of naturally occurring substances including  the roots, stems, branches, leaves, flowers and seeds of plants;  minerals; and non-endangered animal products which have been humanely harvested.  The foundation of the approach of Chinese herbal medicine is  to support the body's natural self-healing abilities to nourish life.  Each patient has unique needs, so we carefully select and formulate herbs that will work together to achieve optimal results for your  specific condition.  We prescribe high quality, toxin-free, and  environmentally sustainable herbal medicines for your health and  well-being.  Remember to let your medical herbalist know if you have any food allergies or refrain from taking any specific substances such as nuts, gluten, or animal products.
